I was thrilled to be invited to the Friends of Richmond Park’s 50th Anniversary Party at Pembroke Lodge on Sunday.
The event was a celebration of the work the Friends have done over the last 50 years, from the time the amazing Wendy Macaulay had the passion and determination to make Richmond Park a safe and accessible place for everybody to enjoy.
The event featured an exhibition and displays of the history and wildlife of Richmond Park as well as speeches from FRP chairman, Ron Compton, Friends’ President, Lord Rix and by guests of honour Sir David Attenborough and Wendy Macaulay, co-founder of the Friends of Richmond Park.
Wendy Macaulay, Lord Rix, Sir David Attenborough and Steve Morgan:

The hugely popular children’s author Dame Jacqueline Wilson also attended and is currently hosting the Poems in the Park competition.
